Citigroup awards $25,000 to benefit Science Teachers
For the second year in a row, the Wichita Falls ISD Foundation Inc has received another Citigroup Success Fund Grant in the amount of $25,000 that benefits teachers and students in the area of science. Wichita Falls ISD was one of only three Texas school districts to receive the grant. Bryan ISD and Abilene ISD were the other two Texas districts.
The Citigroup Foundation/WFISD PreK-12 Science Resource Grant is to provide funding in the 2008-09 school year which will enable district science teachers to purchase instructional materials and teaching resources designed to increase student achievement as measured by district science benchmark exams and the science portion of the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS). Teachers will receive the funds by applying for a grant, similar to the WFISD Foundation's IDEA Grant process.
