Academic Success Project Signing Day
Thirty three district seniors, accepting $1.9 million in scholarships, signed their Academic Success Program pledge on April 27. In total, these seniors were offered $7 million in scholarships from colleges and universities across the nation. Much like top high school athletes are recruited by colleges, students in the district's Academic Success Project from all three high schools are wooed by colleges. Modeled after athletic signing days, the Academic Success Project students signed their "Letter of Intent" and the Academic Success Project coordinator announced their scholarship amounts. Ripon, UT, SMU, St. Joseph's and Rice University are just a few of the places students "signed" for on Tuesday.
