The Community Facilities Action Team (CFAT) met on Tuesday, December 10, 2013.
Chief Financial Officer, Cindy Tatum, presented information comparing the district’s current tax rate with other comparable sized districts, surrounding districts and the number of schools they operate. Murphy Davis, CFA/President Sentry Management, Inc. and district financial advisor, presented information regarding the current financial opportunity for a bond election.

Third and fourth grade students at Washington-Jackson Elementary sent special holiday greeting cards to members of our Armed Forces. The cards were distributed to troops stationed overseas, through the American Red Cross’ Holiday Mail for Heroes program, in collaboration with Wells Fargo.
Twenty-five teachers, representing sixteen winning grants, were greeted by a surprise team that presented them with a grant check and balloons. In total, the WFISD Foundation distributed almost $12,000 to fund educational ideas submitted by teachers.
