Course Information:  This course includes an in depth study of the Anatomy & Physiology of major human body systems.  We spend half of our time in the lab investigating the structural components of the salamander (Necturus maculosus), dogfish shark (Squalus acanthias), & the house cat (Felis domestica). The rest of our time involves a discussion of each body system along with some human physiology investigations (i.e. fingerprint patterns, static lung volume, blood pressure & pulse). A complete set of dissecting tools is provided for students who enroll in this course. Extensive comparison to human anatomy helps to personalize this course as the perfect choice for sophomores, juniors, & seniors who like to use hands-on learning to experience science in an up close & personal way!
