• English Language Proficiency Standards

    19TAC §74.4 

      • ELPS are to be implemented as an integral part of the instruction in each foundation and enrichment subject of the TEKS. 
      • English language proficiency levels of beginning, intermediate, advanced, and advanced high in the domains of listening, speaking, reading, and writing are addressed, as required by NCLB.

      • Teachers have guidance in instruction to ensure a full opportunity for English language learners to succeed academically.
