Autumn Evening Show of Colors

Autumn Evening Show of Colors is a colaborative effort by the Fine Arts Department at WFHS to display and showcase the talent and abilities of our students. Choir, Theatre, Band, Journalism, Library, Orchestra, and Visual Arts all set up displays and performed for parents, students, staff, and members of our community.
The Visual Arts department decided to add a performance aspect to our display. Tommy, Sami, Emily, Shannon, Mr. Kingcade, and Mr. Mayfield all started a different painting on different easels. At 10 minute intervals, we rotated and worked on another picture. The ground rules were set up to match the style of the previous painter. We could not change or completely paint over someone else's work. Our fans were invited and encouraged to step in and take over a "shift" for us. The final results were amazing. We have six paintings that all follow the individual style of the first painter, but incorporate a slightly different style from each subsequent painter. Matching the style was one of the most difficult parts of the evening. Each of us has a different style, and matching that style was a bit of a challenge for us.
