About the Diploma Program

  • The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program is a two-year curriculum offered at Hirschi IB Magnet High School to students in grades 11 and 12. It is widely recognized as an exceptional program by the world's leading universities.

Any student graduating with an IB Diploma will enter any public university in Texas having already earned 24 college credit hours. However, Hirschi IB Diploma graduates have entered college with many more hours. Currently, Hirschi graduates who completed the IB program are attending Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard, Princeton, and Boston University.

The Diploma Program prepares students for university-level work and encourages them to:

      •  Ask challenging questions

      •  Learn how to learn

      • Develop a strong sense of their own identity and culture

      •  Develop the ability to communicate with and understand people from different countries and cultures
