Graduating Class of 2025

Lots of changes are in store for the Class of 2025!  In addition to starting as Seniors at new schools (Legacy and Memorial), these students will also be the first to graduate with new honors recognitions.

Graduation Honors: Starting in 2025, graduation ceremonies will no longer individually recognize the "top 10" highest-raking students. Instead, students in the top ten percent of their graduating class will be considered "Graduates with Distinction" and will be seated alphabetically in a special section. Only the valedictorian and salutatorian will be seated on the stage with other speakers and guests.

Class Rank: As students in the Class of 2025 move to new high schools, their class rank will likely change between the end of Junior year (spring 2024) and the beginning of their Senior year (fall 2025). For the purposes of applying to colleges, students in the Class of 2025 will have these options:

  • May 2024 (End of Junior year): Campuses will run transcripts for students that indicate GPA and current rankings based on class sizes at Hirschi, Rider, and Wichita Falls High School.
  • Summer 2024 (between Junior and Senior year): Students who apply to colleges during the summer can use their transcripts based on their original campus (Hirschi, Rider, WFHS).
  • Fall 2024 (Start of Senior year): Once school begins, a student’s GPA will remain the same, but class rank will be adjusted to the size of the new graduating classes at Legacy HS and Memorial HS. Any transcript requests for college applications after the start of school will reflect the new rank.

Endorsements

Students now earn a high school diploma under the Foundation Graduation Plan with one or more endorsements. An endorsement is an area of specialized study, determined by a sequence of specific courses.  For a quick reference to endorsement options, see one of the resources below.
