  National Merit Scholarship Program
Congratulations to Madison Carlston for being
named a National Merit Finalist!
Rider senior Madison Carlston logs score among nation’s top 16,000 students in National Merit Scholarship Program
At the moment, Rider High School senior Madison Carlston wants to pursue a degree at Brigham Young University. If she ultimately goes that direction, now she can amp up her applications with the title of National Merit Finalist. The prestigious Finalist title from the National Merit Scholarship Program is one of the most coveted academic honors available to a teenager.
Carlston is one of more than 15,000 students nationwide who earned the prestigious National Merit Finalist title in the 62nd annual National Merit Scholarship Program. To do it, she earned a qualifying score on the PSAT, a one-time test administered to high school juniors every October. She has met all of the requirements to advance to the Finalist standing.  Now she is eligible to compete for 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $33-million that will be offered this year.
Way to go, Madison!

Five seniors at Rider High School qualified as National Merit Commended students in the 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Earning the National Merit Commended title is among the top academic accomplishments for a high school scholar.  The commended    students are Pranav Kamath, Syler Dotson, James Scales, Greyson Fitzwater, and Par Wilkinson.  These students scored among the top    34,000 students nationwide.  Although they will not continue in the 2017 competition for National Merit Awards, commended students    placed among the top five percent of more than 1.6-million students who entered the 2017 competition by taking the 2015 Preliminary    SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

Congrats Pranav, Syler, James, Greyson, and Par!
