Staying Safe Together
Additional information will be added as it becomes available.
Wichita Falls ISD is excited about the 2020-2021 school year. Despite the challenges of COVID-19, we will continue to provide the excellent educational opportunities our community has come to expect from WFISD. Those educational opportunities will include an option for both face-to-face and remote learning environments in order to best meet the needs of all students. However, we know there is no "one size fits all" solution to education during these times. For more information about both learning options, click on the icons below:
As the public health crisis continues, district administrators have been seeking input from the Safe Return Task Force, Administrative Advisory Groups, a parent survey and communication with district staff to develop a comprehensive plan that focuses on the health, safety and well-being of our staff, students and community. While WFISD is planning for two different instructional environments, our plan will follow recommendations for school opening and operations provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and state and local health officials.
Parents will have the opportunity to switch their child's learning environment at the end of each grading period. There will be a two-week window for parents to submit the switch form. The link to the switch form will be posted on this webpage and will be sent to parents through a Parentlink message. The change in learning environment will take place two weeks after the switch form window closes. Please see the tables below for the switch form deadlines and when the change in learning environment will take effect.

NOTE FOR REMOTE LEARNERS:
To assist our teachers with planning, WFISD will be implementing new procedures for Remote learners next semester. If you choose for your child to be a Remote learner in the Spring semester, please be aware that the district cannot guarantee:
- he/she will have the same teacher from first semester
- he/she will have a teacher from the same school as first semester, or
- he/she will be able to attend their attendance zone school if they return to Face-to-Face instruction.
Additionally, all Remote learners who are failing one or more courses at the end of the grading period will be expected to return to Face-to-Face instruction next semester (unless there are extenuating circumstances preventing him/her from attending school in person).
