WFISD’s emphasis on STEAM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math –
blossomed into after-school robotics clubs that began in 2016-17. WFISD
purchased littleBits robotics circuitry for its five robotics clubs. The 2017-18
school year was a growth year as several more schools – including the middle
schools – showed interest in starting after-school robotics programs. The robotics
equipment brings an artistic expression to typically linear and quantitative
subjects like science/technology/engineering/math, as it invites students to figure
out what they want to build and invent instead of giving them a prescribed list of
    instructions to follow.
