WFISD has created six bilingual classes with bilingually certified teachers on six
campuses. Bilingual classes begin with the teacher delivering 80 percent of
instruction in the native language of Spanish to give students a strong orientation
in their native language. Classroom instruction gradually transitions to English.
The classroom objective is to obtain English language proficiency by third grade.
