Military Families
Welcome, Sheppard Air Force Base Families!
Welcome to Wichita Falls ISD, where we take pride in supporting and embracing military families. We understand the unique challenges that come with military life, and we are here to ensure a smooth transition for you and your children. As part of our commitment, we are thrilled to have Sheppard Elementary located right here on Sheppard Air Force Base, making it a convenient and ideal choice for military families. At Sheppard Elementary, we provide a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic excellence, character development, and a sense of community. Our dedicated faculty and staff are experienced at working with military-connected students, offering tailored support to meet their educational needs. Sheppard Elementary has received over $2 million in DoDEA grant funds, making it fully equipped to provide an enriching educational experience for your children. We look forward to welcoming you and your family to our district and helping your children thrive both academically and socially.
Sheppard Elementary serves students from PreK (4) through 6th grade on Sheppard Air Force Base. With an enrollment of around 300 students, we take pride in offering a private school quality within a public school setting. Our students benefit from a close-knit family atmosphere, a safe learning environment, and access to the latest technology. They are guided by dynamic educators and engage in Project-Based Learning, UIL activities, enrichment clubs, and student-led initiatives. Additional support includes a full-time nurse, a school counselor, and a Military/Family Life Counselor, ensuring a well-rounded and supportive educational experience.
Sheppard Elementary is a unique school serving military students from more than 10 countries. We are honored to have military-connected students and to build a community of support that is dedicated to the best education for all students. It is our goal to be a family to those who are at Sheppard with their own families being so far away. We are building great memories for students that they will forever cherish.
