National Athletic Trainer Month-Josh Burris
In recognition of National Athletic Trainer Month, WFISD Athletics highlights Josh Burris, the Head Athletic Trainer at Wichita Falls High School. With a wealth of experience and a passion for sports medicine, Burris exemplifies excellence in his field.
Beyond the sidelines, Burris is a devoted family man, sharing his life with his wife, Brittney, and their 1.5-year-old daughter, Kimberlee. His love for sports extends to outdoor activities, where he finds joy in being active and engaging with various athletic pursuits.
Burris's journey in athletic training began with a Bachelor of Science degree from Midwestern State University, followed by a Master of Science in Sports Administration from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Prior to his role at WFHS, he spent 12 years working at Six Flags parks and volunteered at Cypress Creek EMS.
Reflecting on his profession, Burris shares, "My favorite part of being an athletic trainer is seeing an athlete return to their sports after an injury." In honoring Josh Burris during National Athletic Trainer Month, WFISD Athletics celebrates his invaluable contributions to the health and well-being of student-athletes at Wichita Falls High School.
