Rider Orchestra Prepares for Spectacular Flyover Timing
Tomorrow night at Memorial Stadium, something special is in the air as the 80th Flying Training Wing plans a thrilling flyover timed for 7:55, just before the 8 pm kickoff of the final Rider-Old High game. Making sure the national anthem syncs perfectly with the flyover is none other than the Rider Varsity Orchestra.
Under the skilled direction of Loy Studer, this orchestra, which recently rocked Carnegie Hall in New York City, is back on home turf. Their mission is clear: to provide the musical backdrop for the awe-inspiring flyover.
The pilots behind this aerial spectacle are::
- Lt Col Eric Johnston
- Lt Col Daniel Scheurmann
- Lt Col James Killian
- Maj Blake Nixon (a native of Holliday with Rider and Old High ties)
- Maj Max Gasser – representing the German Air Force
- 1Lt Caroline Gagnon
Together, they'll create a special moment for the final Rider-Old High game, celebrating community and patriotism in perfect harmony.
