Community Relations
Welcome to the WFISD Community Relations Department!
At WFISD, we believe in the power of community and its vital role in fostering an exceptional educational experience for our students. The Community Relations Department serves as a bridge between our school district and the broader community, working tirelessly to build strong relationships, open lines of communication, and collaborative partnerships.
Our dedicated team is committed to creating a positive and inclusive environment where students, parents, staff, and community members can thrive together. We understand that a strong sense of community enhances student success and enriches the overall educational journey. Through our department, we strive to connect, engage, and empower everyone involved in our district.
Key Objectives of the Community Relations Department:
-
Communication: We believe that effective communication is the cornerstone of a successful school district. We are here to ensure timely and transparent communication between the district, schools, parents, and the community. Through various channels such as newsletters, social media platforms, and community forums, we keep everyone informed about district news, events, policies, and initiatives.
-
Community Engagement: We actively seek opportunities to engage our community in meaningful ways. We organize events and other opportunities that encourage open dialogue and collaboration between educators, families, and community members. By fostering strong relationships and partnerships, we create an environment where everyone feels valued and supported.
-
Public Relations: Our department plays a vital role in promoting the achievements, initiatives, and milestones of our school district. We work closely with local media outlets to share stories of student success, innovative programs, and community involvement. Additionally, we facilitate public relations campaigns to enhance the image and reputation of our district.
-
Volunteer Coordination: We understand that volunteers are an invaluable resource in our schools. The Community Partnerships office coordinates volunteer programs, connecting community members with meaningful opportunities to contribute their time, skills, and expertise. Whether it's mentoring students, assisting in classrooms, or supporting extracurricular activities, volunteers play a crucial role in enhancing the educational experience of our students.
-
Community Partnerships: We actively seek partnerships with local businesses, organizations, and nonprofits through our Partners In Education program to enrich educational opportunities for our students. Through strategic collaborations, we enhance resources, access to internships, scholarships, and other opportunities that prepare our students for success in the real world.
Thank you for your continued support and commitment to WFISD!
I believe the success of any district is directly related its community support. We are grateful that the Wichita Falls community values WFISD and is committed to the success of our students and teachers.
