Standard Response Protocol
Emergency Actions and Safety Procedure Information
Wichita Falls ISD is committed to the safety and security of all students, staff, and visitors. A comprehensive Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) has been developed to address the four phases of emergency management: prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery. Campuses regularly conduct a variety of safety drills, including fire drills, severe weather drills, and intruder drills, as part of ongoing efforts to prepare students and staff for emergency situations.
In addition, Wichita Falls ISD maintains its own police department and works closely with local and regional emergency response agencies to address matters related to incident management and campus safety.
Wichita Falls ISD uses the Standard Response Protocol from the I Love U Guys Foundation in its communications and messaging. In the event of a status change or emergency incident, the district will use the following terms when communicating with families to ensure messaging remains clear, consistent, and concise.
In An Emergency - When You Hear It, Do It.
