Social & Emotional Services - What is it?

Social and Emotional Services encompasses a plethora of student support services designed to provide students a foundation for safe and positive learning, improved academic outcomes, and targeted supports for social and emotional skills. Since social and emotional learning takes place in the classroom, on playgrounds and practice fields, in the cafeteria, and outside of school, all WFISD are involved in social and emotional learning. Additionally, the WFISD has a system of support service positions in place to help us serve and focus on the whole child. Social and Emotional Service providers include Student Support Staff, such as counselors, college and career advisors, social workers, restorative practice specialists, and more.
