  • Lions Club - *Assists with new glasses and an eye exam for students who do not have Medicaid and who meet certain financial guidelines. Ask school nurse for an application.
  • Community Healthcare Center: Sight for Students Program - 200 MLK Blvd., (940397-2694 or (940)766-6306, *Picture ID, Social Security card, and proof of income are required. Must have no vision insurance or Medicaid and cannot have used the program in the last 12 months.
  • Vision USA (Sponsored by the American Optometric Assn.) - 1-800-766-4466, www.aoa.org/visionusa, *Free eye exam to low income, uninsured working people and their families. Must work full or part time or live in a household with one working family member and no health insurance. Patients must not have had an eye exam within the past two years. Must give an estimate of income for the past year, monthly or weekly. Clients can apply by mail or phone. After filling out the application, you will receive a letter with a local eye doctors appointment in 30 to 60 days.
