Special Programs

Welcome to Special Programs at Wichita Falls ISD. It is both an honor and a privilege to serve our students, families, and community through programs designed to ensure every child has access to meaningful, high-quality educational opportunities.

At WFISD, we are committed to meeting students where they are and supporting them as they grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Our Special Programs department is built on the belief that every student deserves to be seen, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Our department includes three key areas of service:

Special Education

We provide individualized support and services to students with disabilities, ensuring access to a free and appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment. Through collaboration with families, educators, and specialists, we develop personalized plans that promote student success and independence.

Emergent Bilingualism

We celebrate the linguistic and cultural diversity of our students. Our Emergent Bilingual programs are designed to support language development while maintaining high academic expectations. We are dedicated to equipping students with the skills needed to thrive in both English and their native language.

Parents As Teachers

We believe that families are a child’s first and most important teachers. Our Parents As Teachers program partners with families of young children to provide guidance, resources, and support that foster early development and school readiness.

At the heart of Special Programs is a commitment to partnership—with students, families, educators, and the broader community. Together, we work to create inclusive environments where all students feel valued, supported, and inspired to succeed.

Thank you for trusting us to be part of your child’s educational journey.
