Head Start Program

Head Start is available for children who qualify and are 3 or 4 years old on or before September 1, 2026.

Pre-Kindergarten Registration

REQUIRED: Pre-K Eligibility Screening

Pre-K is available for children who are 4 years old on or before September 1, 2026 and meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Eligible for the free or reduced-price lunch program
  • Unable to speak or comprehend English
  • Experiencing homelessness
  • Child of an active-duty U.S. military member, or a member who was injured or killed while serving on active duty
  • Has previously been in foster care

COMPLETE THE REQUIRED PRE-K ELIGIBILITY SCREENINGMANDATORY:  You must complete the Pre-K eligibility screening prior to enrollment. Your student’s enrollment will not be accepted until the screening is completed and eligibility has been confirmed by Wichita Falls ISD. Your eligibility status will be confirmed via email within seven business days of submission.

 

Enrollment Steps AFTER Eligibility Approval

Once you've received eligibility confirmation, please complete the registration steps below:

  1. Create a Skyward Family Access Account
    • Required for first-time WFISD families
    • Submit an Account Request to get started
  2. Complete New Student Enrollment
  3. Attend Early Learning Registration
    • Bring all required documents to finalize enrollment

Kindergarten Eligibility

Children who are 5 years old on or before September 1, 2026 are eligible to attend kindergarten.

Currently Enrolled WFISD Pre-K or Head Start Students

If your child is currently enrolled in a WFISD Pre-K or Head Start program and will attend kindergarteall:

  • You do not need to attend Early Learning Registration
  • Complete the Returning Student Registration Form beginning May 4, 2026

New to Wichita Falls ISD

If your child is not currently enrolled in a WFISD Pre-K or Head Start program, please complete the pre-registration steps below:

  1. Create a Skyward Family Access Account
    • Required for first-time WFISD families
    • Submit an Account Request to get started
  2. Complete New Student Enrollment
  3. Attend Early Learning Registration
