A four-minute Wichita Falls ISD video explains Texas school finance in plain and simple terms. The video shows why public schools are in financial crisis.
Currently, the state is faced with a deficit of $27 billion, and cuts to public education are expected to be significant. It will be several months before the Texas Legislature approves a budget and school districts across the state will know exactly how much they will receive in state revenues for the next two years.
It's imperative that parents and community members do everything they can to educate themselves about this extremely important issue. Please consider contacting the state elected officials who make funding decisions about public education to share your concerns with them.
