UIL 2018 Competitions Showcase Student Talent in Elementary, Middle School
125 elementary students place in 15 contest areas; 68 middle school students place in 17 contest areas
The annual UIL meet for WFISD singled out 126 elementary student winners from intense competition in 15 contests.
Students from 15 WFISD elementary schools competed in the following events: Art, Calculator Applications, Chess Puzzle, Creative Writing, Dictionary Skills, Listening, Maps, Mathematics, Music Memory, Number Sense, Oral Reading, Ready Writing, Social Studies, Spelling and Storytelling.
At the middle school level, 68 students won No. 1 through 6 places in 17 contest areas.
Middle School students from three WFISD middle schools competed in the following events: Art Appreciation, Calculator Applications, Chess Puzzle, Dictionary Skills, Editorial Writing, Impromptu Speaking, Listening Skills, Maps, Mathematics, Modern Oratory, Music Memory, Number Sense, Oral Reading, Ready Writing, Science, Social Studies, and Spelling.
