Project Back-to-School Blankets Community with Help

Now in its 10th year, Project Back-to-School offers a unique benefit to the Wichita Falls community: It provides school supplies and backpacks for more than 6,000 disadvantaged children every year. And while doing it, Project Back-to-School also brings together community resources in a one-day extravaganza called the Project Back-to-School Roundup.

This year’s Roundup is Saturday, August 4. Community partners from around Wichita Falls will converge on the Multi-Purpose Events Center to showcase helpful information about a wide variety of community resources. Join us from 9 a.m. until noon and learn about immunizations, health screenings and more – all while children pick up their free school supplies and backpacks.

One new Roundup feature: WFISD will set up a bank of Chromebooks and invite you to enroll your child for school online. Now that WFISD enrollment is done exclusively online, this makes it easy for parents to complete it in a timely manner before school starts.

The transformative mission of Project Back-to-School is entirely funded by community donations. In 10 years, Project Back-to-School has served more than 60,000 children.
